AUDITION
The ability to perform on stage is the end-goal for all students. Performances provide students the chance to demonstrate their skills, knowledge, artistry, and growing confidence! The Academy of Cleveland Ballet is directly affiliated with the Cleveland Ballet, allowing students the unique opportunity to perform alongside the professional company on the stages of Playhouse Square.
This gives our students invaluable knowledge that only comes from such experiences.
Auditions for Cleveland Ballet productions are open to students registered for classes at the Academy, and specially open to the public for The Nutcracker this year.
We will be holding auditions for Cleveland Ballet's winter production, The Nutcracker, on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

AUDITION INFORMATION
WHO
Auditions are open to Academy of Cleveland Ballet students in Beginner Ballet 2 through Level 4 and Adult Ballet.
Students from the public ages 5-14 and adults 18+.
Please note: level participation is subject to change
WHAT
A variety of roles in The Nutcracker, including (but not limited to): Party Children, Party Parents, Mice, Land of the Sweets Characters

Saturday, October 12, 2024
1-1:45: Beginner Ballet 2-Level 1 (Ages 5-8)
2:00-3:00: Level 2 (Ages 9-11)
3:00-4:00: Level 3-4 (Ages 12-14)
4:00-4:30: Adults (18+)

THINGS TO KNOW
This production has a set number of roles and pre-made costumes. Spots are extremely limited and students are not guaranteed a role if they participate in the audition. Ability, height, and level are all taken into account and we ask that all students and parents respect any casting decision made by the Artistic Director. Academy of Cleveland Ballet students have first right of refusal and priority in casting.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your audition time for registration.
Students should wear their ballet uniform that is worn to weekly classes. Attendees from the public should wear a black leotard, pink tights, and ballet shoes. Gentlemen, please wear black tights and white shirts.
Please note that safety pins may be used to secure the audition number.
Rehearsals take place on Saturdays beginning October 26. Rehearsals will take place at Cleveland Ballet's studios as well as Center Stage Dance Studio depending on the weekly schedule.
There will be a mandatory parent meeting on
Saturday, October 26.
